It was the first actual summer evening where I live with deck temperatures and no wind—and what better way to celebrate than tacos! We made Kenji’s Tacos Al Pastor recipe and a Crème Brûlée recipe from Jessica Sullivan at Boulevard SFO that looks like it has exited the Internet, but there wasn’t anything weird about it, and it was easy and great! Also, the Lipspin cocktail, which was a surprisingly rich application of blanco tequila. Nicole made some great salsas to go with everything. It all turned out great even though I overcooked the pork a bit so it was a little grainy—make sure to check the temp instead of just relying on the time!
