ESC #52

I’d been saving the Flank Steak with Peaches and Dandelion Greens for a while because it required ingredients that are only good in summer. I adapted it for the grill, and it turned out great! The grilled shellfish with romesco was OK (recipe 404’d but there are tons out there)—I grilled the shellfish perfectly, but the sauce was a little bland and sticky with it—maybe too much bread? When recipes say “2 slices of bread,” it’s like ?? Anyhoo, the tomatoes and burrata that we threw together to go with the main were refreshing, and the upside down summer fruit cornmeal cake was a hit (also gone from the Interwebs, but again, lots of variations out there), and the Anisette Spritz was festive and yummy with the appetizer. So overall a solid menu, and while it was too hot and windy to eat dinner outside, we did get to enjoy the deck (and my new water feature) for dessert.
