In the past I’ve waited until my dogs are gone to create tributes to them: I do angel-dog cartoons, and sometimes I name cocktails after them (if you want to try the Jasper, it’s 1.5 oz apple brandy, .5 oz Luxardo or other cherry liqueur, .5 oz Cynar or other Amaro, 1/8 t red chile powder–shake with ice and serve over with 2 thin quarter slices pear to garnish). But then I thought it would be a lot more fun if we could all enjoy the tributes while their subjects were still around to laugh at appreciate them. So, without further ado:
- The United States of Tali. From the description on Lulu.com: “Self-improvement tips from a very beautiful and badly behaved black dog named Tali. 32 pages with black-and-white and color ink illustrations.” All proceeds go to the SPCA.
- The Ballad of Rye
So much fun!! Almost like being there when you play your ukulele and celebrate whatever the occasion is. Congrats to Rye. Plus I ordered a copy of The United States of Tali. A lighter book to place in your growing row on the bookshelf … Will I live long enough to read them all?… Here’s to Tali and Rye!
