Happy Halloween

I can’t believe I haven’t posted these on here yet. I’m pretty sure these came from a Woman’s Day magazine in the check-out line at the supermarket like 15 years ago. I don’t think I even bought the magazine–they’re pretty easy to reverse engineer and even easier to make if you use box cake and canned frosting, which I do because I always think of these like less than 24 hours before Halloween…. I use red velvet cake to up the Halloween ante and add a little Steel Magnolias vibe to boot. It’s fun to give them different expressions: I’m particularly fond of side-eye owl….
