David Bird’s Becorns and Flower People

youtube.com/watch

When I was a kid one of my favorite books was the Tumfee Wood Acorn Book, which was about tiny elven creatures living in trees. When I was visiting my sister last month, the acorns were dropping everywhere–all shapes and sizes; so, I glued together a little acorn lady to surprise her neighbor, Jan: they have a cottonwood stump they’ve made into a kind of tower with a Victorian spire, and it has polypore mushrooms growing out of the sides now, so it really looks like a fairy tower now, and I left the acorn person on one of those ledges. I had no idea that there was so much more I could have done with my acorn lady! (JK: I don’t have the skills that David Bird does)
