Day 72: Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
As you are learning more about God’s love for you, and your identity in Him, and how precious you are to Him, it’s important to know that the World does not see you the way God sees you. The World is sexist: it believes might makes right, and so women tend to come out with the short straw. Sadly, the Church often replicates the sexism of the World, telling women that their needs and beliefs aren’t as important as men’s, that their role is to serve men and keep their mouths shut about any abuse they suffer in the process. Sister, you need to recognize sexism–wherever and however it exists–as a stronghold of the Enemy. It is a result of the Fall. In God’s eyes, in His perfect plan for Creation, you are every bit as valuable as your husband or any other man in your life–your father, your son, your pastor. If any man ever tells you otherwise, or disrespects you, or devalues you, he is not acting out God’s love for you. Neither is any woman who tells you to tolerate degradation or abuse at the hands of a man. These people are not only not your bosses; they’re not even your friends. Surround yourself only with people who respect your essential, precious dignity as a Daughter of the King.
