Letter of Recommendation: Weleda

Weleda was founded in Switzerland in 1921 on the philosophy of putting as few and as natural ingredients as possible in beauty products. I’ve been using Weleda since I discovered their salt toothpaste at our local co-op a decade ago: I have sensitive teeth and weak gums, and the salt helps with that as much or more than any prescription toothpaste I’ve tried. Then, my friend Suzi sent me their lip balm in a care package, and I loved it so much I decided to try all their products that I could get my hands on in my hometown. They’re all pretty reasonably priced and have worked well for me–particularly their spray deodorant (natural deodorants that actually work are few and far between in my experience) and pomegranate skin-care line. And bonus: since they’re European, I can get pretty much the full line here in Berlin at my neighborhood drogerie.

  1. Please e-mail me a list of the ingredients in the lip balm–when you have time. I may have a few minutes to pay attention to Weleda in the coming weeks. Sounds interesting.
