I can’t even remember which awards show it was last year, maybe the Oscars? But the New York Times (I think) ran a red-carpet slide show that sorted the looks by color and then put them in a gradient that started with black and went through gray to white, then did the metallics starting with silver and pivoted from gold into yellow, orange, red, pink, purple, blue, then the peacocks, then finished with green. It struck me as an innovative way of reorganizing the rainbow. So, when I was scratching my head as to how to upcycle all the odds and ends of yarn I had collected from various knitting projects over the years, that color scheme came to mind, and I did my version of it, using this really simple lace pattern.
