A good bit of what goes on in my brain is connecting something I’m currently seeing or otherwise sensing to a memory of a past experience, according to similarities or resonances between the two. So, tonight when I saw the sunset, the luminescent pink color reminded me of the pink shell in the Korean lacquer box making video I linked to in a previous Friday Favorites. I figured I’d start posting some of these matches for fun even though I know they won’t seem as similar outside my brain as they did inside….

Truly beautiful. Our sunset in Albuquerque this evening was a clear, luminescent, high desert display, more orange-pink-purple at the horizon with a greenish-teal above, and higher contrast because of less humidity.
